Organizational Context

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Officer and overall supervision of the Head of Area Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in administration.
Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in general administrative work. One year in the field of inventory and asset management is a must.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.
Knowledge: Experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other standard software packages and systems. General knowledge of UN system administrative policies, rules, regulations and procedures would be an added advantage.

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Officer and overall supervision of the Head of Area Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Extract and input data from various sources into the WFP Inventory Management System;
- Maintain a selected number of administrative control records, such as for tracking and issuance of inventory items;
- Initiate and process inventory management actions;
- Assist in monitoring status of assets and allotments through WFP corporate systems, record variations, update tables and consolidate data;
- Make computations, calculations and estimates and prepare reports or assist in the preparation of periodic reports;
- Draft correspondence relating to the area of responsibility;
- Design and update charts and tables, initiate, update and track various administrative actions;
- Assist with day-to-day administration of assets with external resources; Check items against the goods receipt and services provided by the vendors
- Provide information related to the above functions and exchange a variety of statistical information;
- Assist with the annual inventory physical count exercise, record movement of assets and assist in the disposal process;
- Track loan items issued staff members, non-food items purchased, and SCOPE items issued to Cooperating Partners and other Area Offices;
- Organize storage space and classify inventory items in the warehouse for easy retrieval and reporting;
- Perform other related duties as required.
